Our Story

Lightwave Group began in 1996 with a focus on designing and building high-performance sailing catamarans under the Lightwave Y​achts brand. To date, we’ve proudly delivered over 100 custom-built catamarans, continuing our legacy in the marine industry.

In 2007, we expanded into composite manufacturing under Lightwave Composites. Since then, we've produced more than 400,000 composite parts across a wide range of projects—from wastewater treatment tanks to 140-foot commercial ferries—serving both local and international clients. Our expert team brings decades of hands-on experience in composite manufacturing, delivering high-quality results on time, on budget, and to world-class standards.

Driven by strong growth across both divisions, in 2020 Lightwave Group established a purpose-built manufacturing facility in Yatala—one Gold Coast’s premier industrial precincts. Spanning over 3,000 sqm of factory space, with integrated offices and dedicated outdoor storage, this facility underpins our continued innovation and expansion.
